How we will use your information
The information you enter on the sign-up form creates an entry for you on our membership/email database. This comprises your name, email address, the name of your town or village, and telephone number (the latter will be used to contact you if your email isn’t working).
Membership is free, and you can Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the end of any email from us. You can see all the information we hold on you (and update it) by clicking Update Your Preferences, also at the end of any email. We do not share this data with anyone else unless they are engaged on the same project for CRAG as yourself.
All members receive occasional emails from us, rarely more than twice a month, describing what we are doing, ways our supporters can help, what we do with the money we raise, and sharing refugee-related news. We might also ask you to help by e.g. baking a cake or donating clothes, medicine or money for a specific event or refugee cause, or helping at an event.
These newsletters are an integral part of membership.
We will not pass on your details to any other organisation or person.
Your data: we keep your name, email address, the name of your town or village and phone number on the secure MailChimp database. We keep no sensitive data on you.
What for? To let you know of CRAG events and for fundraising and appeals. We will only use your phone number if communication via email doesn’t work. We will not pass your data on to third parties without your express written consent.
On what legal basis? You have consented to our keeping your data to communicate with you, and we have a legitimate interest in holding it, which is necessary and reasonable in order to keep in touch with you as a member, to tell you about past and planned events, and for appeals.
For how long? We keep your data for as long as you remain a member of CRAG or permit us to have it to communicate with you. If you click Unsubscribe at the end of any email we send, your entry is automatically deleted from our database.
Your rights. You have the following rights: to be informed about our collection and use of your data; to access your personal data; to correct any inaccuracies; to object to any particular use of your data; to have your data deleted in part or wholly.
For the purpose of the General Data Protection Regulation, the data controller is Charlbury Refugee Action Group.
